Start with the six-week example below, or adapt it to your time. Every 45-minute session combines recall, exam questions and corrections. Topic sessions link directly to free notes; mixed sessions include practical and data skills.

One session. Three useful steps.

  1. 8 minutes · Recall

    Close your notes. Write the key definitions, equations and units from memory, then check them.

  2. 27 minutes · Practise

    Attempt questions for your own exam board. Show working, units and explanations before opening the mark scheme.

  3. 10 minutes · Correct

    Mark your work. Record the reason for each error and redo one missed question without looking at the answer.

How the planner chooses your sessions

Each available topic gets a first pass before repeats are added. Selected weaker topics come first. After that first pass, weaker topics receive double weight when repeat slots are allocated, with another topic between consecutive repeats whenever possible. With three or more sessions a week, the last session of each week mixes earlier topics and practical skills; with one or two, the final session of the plan does this.

Retrieving an answer before checking it can help long-term retention. This is supported by Roediger and Karpicke’s research on test-enhanced learning. The time split and topic weighting here are practical planning choices, not a scientifically proven optimum or a guarantee of a grade.

After each week, use your marked work to reassess weak topics. Check your teacher’s checklist and exam-board documents for topics or practical requirements beyond these notes. The planner does not predict exam questions or set exam dates.
