IGCSE · AS · A-Level Physics tutor
Live online groups · UAE time · AED 150 for 90 minutes
Dr Mohamed Desouky offers live online IGCSE, AS and A-Level Physics tutoring for students in Dubai. Group lessons combine explanations, worked questions, checked homework and exam preparation, with direct access to the teacher for questions.
Dr Desouky holds a PhD in Physics and Education and has 30+ years of teaching experience. He has taught 3,000+ students across his courses and teaching history. Choose the course below to check your exam board and see the relevant results.
Before you join
Timetables differ by exam board. Send your qualification and intended exam session to confirm the current days, times, time zone and available places.
Want to identify a starting point? Try the free Physics diagnostic test, then explore student feedback and result examples.
Join live online lessons for Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE Physics. Work through difficult topics, practise calculations and written explanations, and develop practical and graph skills. Questions are matched to Cambridge 0625/0972 or Edexcel International GCSE linear 4PH1 and modular 4XPH1.
The academy reports that 90% of its IGCSE students achieve A*. This is a historical figure across its teaching history, not a Dubai-only or current-cohort result. Explore the IGCSE results and individual student accounts alongside the course details.
Dr Desouky teaches Edexcel International AS and A-Level Physics online, including the A2 stage. Lessons build the reasoning and mathematical skills needed for advanced questions, with past papers selected for your units. AS is the first stage; AS and A2 together form the full International A-Level, often called IAL.
For A-Level Physics, the academy reports historical results of 35% A* and 90% A*/A. These are academy-wide figures across its teaching history. Teaching follows Edexcel International Physics; Cambridge A-Level is not offered.
Online group sessions cost AED 150 for 90 minutes. Times are agreed with the group in UAE time. Lessons include homework, regular assessments and direct WhatsApp support between sessions.
When enquiring, send your school course name or statement of entry, a recent piece of assessed work, your exam date and available times. Mention the topics you find difficult and the grade you are working towards. You do not need to know the syllabus code to start the conversation.
Dubai students attend live online. In-person lessons take place in Khalidiya, near Abu Dhabi Corniche; contact Dr Desouky separately about availability and fees for that location.
In their words
He didn't just teach me physics. He taught me to trust myself. I wouldn't be studying engineering at Imperial without him.
Noor
Dubai
The formula memory techniques he taught us are brilliant. I haven't forgotten a single physics equation since his class.
Tariq
Dubai
I used to panic at 6-mark questions. He taught us a formula for structuring answers to get maximum marks. It worked every time.

Questions
Choose a question for a direct answer, then explore the explanation and supporting resources. Each answer has its own link to save or share.
Dubai students can join online Cambridge IGCSE Physics 0625/0972, Edexcel International GCSE Physics 4PH1 or modular 4XPH1, and Edexcel International AS and A-Level Physics groups. A2 and Edexcel M1 Mechanics are also available; Cambridge A-Level Physics is outside the teaching offer.
Check the actual qualification rather than assuming a British-curriculum course identifies the board. For example, an Edexcel IGCSE student may take the linear or modular route, and an A-Level student may be studying an International or UK specification. Share the school course name or paper cover so the appropriate group and resources can be discussed.
The published fee for Dubai students is AED 150 for a 90-minute live online group session. Timetables differ by board and are confirmed with the relevant group in UAE time. In-person lesson fees in Abu Dhabi are a separate arrangement.
When comparing tuition, ask whether the quoted price is per student, per session or for a package, and compare the duration and format. Here, AED 150 refers to one online group session. Discuss the expected session pattern before calculating a monthly budget; the website does not publish a fixed timetable or a guaranteed number of sessions per month.
The published online offer is group tuition, with groups of around 20 students. Students can ask questions, receive checked homework and contact Dr Desouky between sessions. The AED 150 rate is for a 90-minute group lesson and does not describe one-to-one tuition.
A group works best when the qualification and pace match the student's needs. During the enquiry, describe whether the student is missing foundations, keeping up with school topics or preparing for a particular exam unit. Ask how that need fits the available group. Around 20 is an approximate group size, not a guaranteed maximum or a statement that places are currently available.
The service for Dubai students is live online physics tuition. Dr Desouky's in-person lessons take place in Khalidiya, near Abu Dhabi Corniche. There is no Dubai classroom advertised; contact him separately if you want to discuss attending the Abu Dhabi location.
Online attendance lets you take part from your own study space without travelling to the academy. Check the device, connection and a place to write before your session, and keep the relevant paper and calculator ready. If you prefer physical attendance, first confirm an appointment and the applicable fees for Abu Dhabi rather than treating the online booking details as location instructions.
Check the exact exam-board match, lesson format, group size, timetable and feedback process. Read student accounts alongside any headline results. A useful course discussion should connect the student's marked work and current difficulties to the support offered, rather than promise a particular grade.
Keep IGCSE and A-Level figures separate when reviewing results: the academy reports a historical 90% A* rate at IGCSE, and 35% A* with 90% A*/A at A-Level. These are academy-wide figures across its teaching history, not Dubai-only results or a forecast for a new student. Individual accounts add context, but they cannot establish a guaranteed outcome.
Send Dr Desouky your course name or statement of entry, recent assessed work, exam date and available times. Explain which topics or question types are causing difficulty. He can discuss the relevant online group once the qualification and study needs are clear.
An effective first message might say: 'I study Edexcel International GCSE Physics and struggle to explain circuit questions. My exam is in the next exam series; these are my available times.' Add the actual date and a sample of your working. Do not worry about using a syllabus code correctly before enquiring; a clear paper cover can identify the course.
Students who join a group receive recorded sessions to help them catch up. Discuss which material the group has covered and what should be reviewed first. Recordings support revision and catching up; confirm the live timetable before assuming a recording-only study arrangement.
Use a recording actively: stop before the worked solution, attempt the question, then compare each step. Keep a short list of points you still cannot explain and ask about those during the available support. Watching a full lesson without attempting questions can feel familiar without showing whether you can reproduce the method independently.
Parents can contact Dr Desouky at any time with questions and are kept in the loop. Useful progress discussions compare recent work, repeated mistakes and the next practice target. Contact availability does not imply an instant reply or a fixed schedule of formal reports.
Ask a concrete question such as whether the student now sets out calculations correctly or explains a circuit change without prompting. Compare similar tasks over time; a higher mark on an easier paper alone may not show improvement. Homework and assessment feedback can guide the conversation, while the student's own explanation reveals whether a method has become independent.
