How grading works

Asked, answered.

How is the June 2026 Cambridge IGCSE Physics 0625 grade calculated?

For the Extended route, Cambridge converts the three raw marks to a 200-mark syllabus aggregate: multiple choice out of 40 is multiplied by 1.5, theory out of 80 by 1.25, and Practical or Alternative to Practical out of 40 by 1.0. The resulting total is compared with the official threshold for the exact component combination.

What mark was needed for A* or A in Cambridge 0625 in June 2026?

It depends on the component combination. Across the supported June 2026 Extended combinations, the official A* thresholds range from 156 to 165 out of 200, while the A thresholds range from 133 to 140. Select your exact papers above for the applicable figures.

How does the marks-needed calculation work?

Leave any paper you have not completed blank. The calculator subtracts your weighted marks from the official A* and A aggregate thresholds. If exactly one paper is blank, it converts the gap back into the minimum whole raw mark needed on that paper; with multiple papers blank, it shows the weighted-mark target across them.

Can I use this calculator for Edexcel or another exam session?

No. It is specifically for Cambridge IGCSE Physics 0625 Extended in the June 2026 session and uses that session's official aggregate threshold table. It is not an Edexcel calculator and does not predict thresholds for any other Cambridge session.
