A2 Physics tutor
Edexcel A-Level second year · AS foundations to advanced questions
Dr Mohamed Desouky teaches A2 Physics, the second stage of Edexcel International A-Level. Study in person in Khalidiya, near Abu Dhabi Corniche, or join live online groups from the UAE and Gulf.
The course develops further mechanics, fields, particles, thermodynamics, oscillations, cosmology and practical skills while revisiting the AS foundations they depend on. Online groups cost AED 150 per 90-minute session; contact Dr Desouky for in-person arrangements and fees.

WPH14 develops further mechanics, electric and magnetic fields, and particle physics. WPH15 covers thermodynamics, nuclear and particle radiation, oscillations and cosmology. WPH16 assesses practical skills, experimental reasoning and data analysis at the second IAL stage.
A2 is a useful teaching label, but the full qualification is Pearson Edexcel International A-Level Physics YPH11. It requires all six units WPH11-WPH16. Later-unit teaching therefore revisits IAS mechanics, waves, electricity and practical reasoning whenever a WPH14-WPH16 question depends on them.
Exam work is organised by WPH unit and skill. Students practise selecting models for unfamiliar contexts, linking topics within longer calculations, explaining abstract physics precisely, and treating practical-data questions as a defined sequence rather than guesswork.
Dr Desouky brings 30+ years of physics teaching and 15+ authored physics books to this work.
Live online group sessions last 90 minutes and cost AED 150 each. The timetable is agreed with the students in each group and can follow the units they are preparing to sit.
Weekly homework is checked individually, regular exams test recall and synthesis under time, and students can ask Dr Desouky questions directly on WhatsApp.
In their words
I'm now in my first year of engineering, and I still refer back to Dr. Desouky's notes. They're clearer than my university textbooks.
Kareem
Doha
I've been studying with Dr. Desouky from Grade 9 through Grade 12, and he's been more than just a teacher. He always believed in me.
Yousef
Abu Dhabi
The revision sessions right before exams are intense but worth it. He covered exactly what appeared on the test down to the specific mark scheme wording.

Dr Desouky teaches the A2 stage of Pearson Edexcel International A-Level Physics: WPH14–WPH16 toward the full YPH11 award. The service follows the International specification. Students taking another board should check the course code before assuming that its A2 content and assessment match.
The shared label A2 does not tell you which papers to practise. Share the code on the statement of entry and the intended sitting so teaching can target the correct units. The full IAL also contains the earlier IAS units, which remain relevant when a later paper draws on foundational knowledge.
A2 tuition covers WPH14 Further Mechanics, Fields and Particles; WPH15 Thermodynamics, Radiation, Oscillations and Cosmology; and WPH16 Practical Skills in Physics II. The teaching plan follows the student's unit entry while linking advanced concepts to the IAS ideas they rely on.
Treat the practical unit as part of the same physics. An oscillation, electrical or thermal investigation can require a model, a graph and a judgment about uncertainty. Learning those connections helps a student respond when the apparatus or context changes instead of depending on a memorised experimental answer.
A2 names the later stage of Edexcel International Physics, WPH14–WPH16. The full International A-Level award is YPH11 and requires all six units WPH11–WPH16. The A2-stage units alone do not constitute the full Physics qualification.
This matters when discussing goals and entries: joining an A2 group is a teaching decision, while obtaining the full award depends on the complete qualification requirements and the examination centre's administration. Keep a record of your units and ask the centre to confirm which award and entries you need.
Yes. Students can join A2 tuition after studying Edexcel IAS elsewhere. Teaching checks and revisits the WPH11–WPH13 knowledge required for later topics. Share the intended WPH units and recent work so the relevant group and any prerequisite gaps can be discussed.
There is no need to pretend every earlier topic is equally weak. A student may understand energy and momentum but need help with vectors or circuit relationships. Identify the missing step, repair it, then return to the A2 problem. That makes foundational revision directly useful to the unit being studied.
Online Edexcel IAL A2 Physics tutoring costs AED 150 per 90-minute live online group session. Groups are around 20 students, and the schedule varies by board and group. Students who join receive recorded sessions to help them catch up.
An enquiry should name WPH14, WPH15 or WPH16 rather than only saying second-year Physics. That helps identify the relevant teaching sequence and schedule. Recorded sessions support catch-up for joined students, and parents can contact Dr Desouky with questions. In-person availability and fees are confirmed separately.
Keep vectors, Newton's laws, energy, momentum, wave relationships, electrical quantities and graph interpretation active. A2 questions can combine later content with earlier ideas, so revising the needed foundation alongside each new topic is usually more purposeful than rereading the entire IAS course at once.
Circular motion still needs force reasoning: identify the real force providing the resultant toward the centre before substituting into an equation. Field questions may require proportional reasoning and conservation of energy. A missed mark should therefore be traced to the exact step, whether it belongs to the new content or an earlier skill.
Start with the unit code, the previous marked work and the kinds of marks lost. Build revision around those weaknesses, then test the improvement with fresh timed questions for the same specification. Confirm entry dates and resit administration with the examination centre rather than relying on a tuition timetable.
A resit plan should change something concrete. If long calculations broke down, practise linking steps and keeping units visible. If explanations were vague, practise stating the relationship, applying it to the situation and drawing the conclusion. Repeating the same paper until its answers are familiar can hide rather than solve the original weakness.
